Overview

On this trip, we will tour the north of Spain, visiting Madrid, Merida, Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, the Basque Country, La Rioja, Zaragoza, San Sebastián, Bilbao, Santander, Oviedo, Ribadeo, Santiago de Compostela, Rías Bajas, and Vigo. We will enjoy their Atlantic climate, green landscapes, culture, and cuisine.

Additionally, we will spend four days in Portugal, visiting Porto, Coimbra, Fátima, and Lisbon.

¿Who qualifies for this trip?

  • Adults over 21 years old (preferably)
  • People with passports that are valid for more than six months after the date of the trip with at least three blank pages.
  • Vaccinated and unvaccinated people. Non-vaccinated people must be responsible for complying with the requirements for entry into the country visited, if there are last-minute changes that may prevent entry into the country, MGT is not responsible for them and the same cancellation policy will be applied.

  • In Santander, visit to the gardens of the Magdalena Palace.
  • Tour along the Cantabrian coast, including visits to Oviedo and Ribadeo, with the famous Beach of the Cathedrals.
  • Visit to the tomb of Apostle Santiago at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela and Obradoiro Square.
  • Tour of Rías Bajas, including the island of Toja and a tasting of mussels and Ribeiro wines.
  • Visit to Santa Tecla and crossing the Miño river to Porto, Portugal.
  • In Porto, exploration of the historic center and tasting of Porto wine.
  • Visit to Coimbra, including the University of Coimbra and its Joanina Library.
  • Visit to Fátima, one of the most important Marian sanctuaries in the world.
  • In Lisbon, visits to Eduardo VII Park viewpoint, Belém Tower, Jerónimos Monastery, Monument to the Discoveries, Estrela Basilica, and Avenida da Liberdade.
  • Return to Spain with a visit to Mérida and its Roman monuments.
  • Return to Madrid with visits to the Puerta de Alcalá, Buen Retiro Park, Plaza de Colón, Plaza de Cibeles, Gran Vía, and Plaza del Callao.

Day 3 March 30
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Departure to Zaragoza. We will visit the Basilica del Pilar located in Zaragoza. This is one of the most important churches in the country and a recognized place of pilgrimage dedicated to the Virgen del Pilar, the patron saint of Spain and Hispanidad.
  • We go to the beaches of San Sebastián. La Concha is the most famous beach and one of the most emblematic in Spain. It is shaped like a shell and offers spectacular views of the Bay of La Concha and the Island of Santa Clara.
  • Free time for dinner at your discretion.
Day 4 March 31
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Departure to the city of Bilbao.
  • In the city of Bilbao we will tour the city center until we reach the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, recognized for its distinctive contemporary architecture designed by Frank Gehry.
  • We will continue to Santander, a maritime city where we will visit the gardens of the Palacio de la Magdalena. This palace was built between 1908 and 1912 as a summer residence for the Spanish royal family. The gardens are a beautiful natural environment that surrounds the palace, offering stunning views of the Cantabrian Sea and the bay of Santander.
  • Free time for dinner at your discretion.
Day 5 April 1st
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Tour of the Cantabrian coast reaching Oviedo, capital of the Principality of Asturias.
  • Then we will go to Galicia, entering through Ribadeo.
  • Visiting the famous beach of the Cathedrals.
  • We will end the tour of the Cantabrian coast at a mandatory stop at the tomb of the Apostle Santiago.
  • Free time for dinner at your discretion.
Day 6 April 2
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • View of the city of Santiago de Compostela with a local guide including the main points of interest, such as the Cathedral and Obradoiro Square.
  • Rest of the day free to walk the beautiful and safe streets of the historic center, lunch and dinner at your discretion.
Day 7 April 3
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Departure to Rías Bajas, with a short stop on the island of La Toja.
  • Stop in O Grove, where you can take a catamaran tour to see the cultivation of oysters and mussels, with tasting of mussels and Ribeiro wines. (This excursion is optional and is not included in the package)
  • We continue to Vigo.
  • There we can make a visit to Santa Tecla, crossing the Miño River that borders Spain and Portugal, enjoying the beautiful lands of Minho. (This excursion is optional and is not included in the package)
  • Free time for dinner at your discretion.
Day 8 April 4
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Panoramic view of Porto, a city declared a World Heritage Site.
  • Visit to the Cathedral of Porto, known in Portuguese as “Sé do Porto,” one of the oldest and most significant structures in the city.
  • Visit to the Palacio de la Bolsa, originally the headquarters of the Commercial Association of Porto, now an important center for congresses and events, and a popular tourist attraction. Among its most famous rooms is the Arab Hall, decorated in the Moorish style.
  • Visit to the Church of Santa Clara, a remarkable work of Portuguese Baroque, with an interior famous for its exuberant decoration, including golden altars and detailed ornaments.
  • Rest of the day off.
  • You can take a cruise on the Douro River. (Not included in the package)
Day 9 April 5
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Departure to the city of Coimbra.
  • Panoramic view of the city.
  • We continue to Fátima.
  • We will visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary.
  • Visit to the Chapel of the Apparitions.
  • Visit to the Basilica of the Holy Trinity.

  • Continuation of our trip to Lisbon, capital of Portugal.
